Broadway On The Mountain, not only being one of the most energetic shows Desert Mountain High School puts on, is one of the greatest learning experiences for the dancers involved. With modern dancing being figurative and nonliteral, the dancers experience how it feels to be a Broadway dancer and sometimes even a Broadway singer. The movements get to be literal and more acting skills are involved to portray the story of the song they chose. There is no limit to the attitudes and emotions that can be explored through this experience and dancers can explore different side of their dancing personas. 

I would like to give special thanks to our fantastic mentor and teacher Mrs. Noriega, more commonly known as Nori. She is more than just a teacher to us, she’s our mom away from home. She cares about us as a part of her family and treats with the same respect a mother does. She is fun and loving while also not being afraid to sit on you if you won’t respect her, figuratively and literally. Every student that comes into the dance program isn’t just taking a class, they are joining one of the most loving, accepting families in the world.

On behalf of the Desert Mountain Dance Program, I would like to say thank you to Nori for everything you do for us. You’ve changed all of us, making us better people as well as better dancers.
